Steak and “Baked” Potato

Who doesn’t love a good steak dinner every now and again? You know those dive bars that offer ridiculously cheap steak dinners once a week? Turns out, you can have that same deal at home any time you’d like (and the PBR is even cheaper)!


  • 1/2 TBSP garlic powder
  • 1/2 TBSP salt
  • 1 TBSP paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • Pinch of dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Four steaks, about 1 inch thick
  • Four medium potatoes
  • Favorite potato toppings (butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits, etc.)

Combine the garlic powder, salt, paprika, cayenne and oregano. Gradually stir in the olive oil. Pour the mixture into a sealable freezer bag, add the steaks and turn to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat a grill.

Stab potatoes all over deeply with a fork. Microwave potatoes ONE AT A TIME for about 4 min each or until fully cooked through. Wrap potatoes in aluminum foil until ready to serve.

Remove steaks from the marinade. Scrape some of the marinade off the steaks and grill to desired doneness.
