Supreme Pizza Burgers

300 calories; $3.50 / serving

Yep! That’s right: I turned a burger into pizza, and then called it healthy. Why? Because this handheld delight contains ALL of the food groups, and is actually a balanced meal. Throw in a side salad to add some color to your dinner plate.



  • Wheat Burger Buns
  • Ground Turkey, Beef, or Italian Sausage
  • Sliced Red Onion
  • Sliced Bell Pepper
  • Sliced Mushrooms
  • Shredded Mozzarella
  • Pepperoni
  • Jarred Pizza Sauce

Heat some oil in a nonstick skillet. Cook the mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions together in the skillet, adding your favorite seasoning. Remove the veggies and set aside. Shape the ground meat into patties and fry in the skillet. When ready, flip the burgers, then top with the pepperoni, cooked veggies, and mozzarella. Place a lid on the skillet to melt the cheese.

When the burgers are fully cooked and the cheese is melted, carefully place the loaded patties on a burger bun and top with pizza sauce. Tip: Toast the buns a bit in the oven with some butter and garlic before loading them up!
